During our professional day of learning last week, we discussed the power of using light in the classroom. This was especially poignant as it coincides with Chanukah, the festival of lights. From flashlights and light tables to overhead projectors and soft lamps, our children got to explore 4 main light concepts: illumination, reflection, shadows and movement. There is always a special buzz in the air around Chanukah time in the ECC. The children and teachers are equally enjoying the learning and everyone has been making such wonderful crafts for the holiday. They've done such things as light exploration; making oil from olives; spinning dreidels in paint; and more!
