🌳 Our ECC children enjoyed learning all about Tu B’Shevat, the Birthday of the Trees, through hands-on and meaningful experiences. They created art projects, explored trees by feeling bark and textures, counted the rings of a tree, planted seeds, and worked together to create tree webs, learning how trees are connected to people, animals, air, water, and the earth. Through discussion and collaboration, they discovered how trees give us shade, oxygen, fruit, and beauty—and how we, in turn, must take responsibility for caring for them.
🌳 The learning culmintaed with each class having a Tu B'Shevat "Seder". The children sampled a variety of fruits, talking about where they come from. This sensory experience sparked excitement and curiosity, and for many children, it was a chance to try something new. If you look closely, you'll be able to see some of the faces we caught on camera as they tasted some of the sour fruits! All in all, it was a great experience for the children.
